How much is the surcharge if I use my Visa LibertyCard to pay for something abroad?
For a payment abroad there is a fee of 2% for foreign currency transactions with the Visa LibertyCard and 1.75% for the Visa LibertyCard Plus.

How much does a cash withdrawal cost at a counter or ATM in Switzerland?
For cash withdrawals at bank counters or ATMs in Switzerland, there is a surcharge of 3.75% (minimum CHF 5).

How much does a cash withdrawal cost at a counter or ATM abroad?
For cash withdrawals at bank counters or ATMs abroad, there is a surcharge of 3.75% (minimum CHF 10). 

Does a credit balance on the Visa Bonus Card account earn interest?
No.

Do cash withdrawals earn Liberty points?
Yes, cash withdrawals also count as purchases.

When does the monthly invoice have to be paid by?
The invoice must be paid by the end of the current month.

Can the monthly invoice be paid off in instalments?
The monthly invoice can of course be paid off in convenient instalments. The minimum payment is 5% of the outstanding balance, but must be at least CHF 50.

What is the monthly minimum payment?
The monthly minimum payment is 5% of the outstanding balance, but must be at least CHF 50. For example: the minimum payment for an outstanding balance of less than CHF 500 is CHF 50.

Is interest charged on payment by instalments?
If you’re paying off the invoice in instalments, monthly interest is charged which represents an annual percentage rate of 15% maximum.

Can I check my account balance online?
Yes, with MyOnlineServices, the free online portal for all customers of BonusCard.ch AG, you're always completely up to date. Simply log in at www.myonlineservices.ch to view your account information, any time, anywhere! It’s all very simple. You can find further information there.

Can I also pay via PayNet?
No, unfortunately that is not possible at present.

I’d like to pay my invoice by direct debit. How do I do this?
To pay your invoice by direct debit, you need to fill in a direct debit form and send it to your bank or your post office. You can download the form from the website under Direct debit, or order one by phone on +41 58 717 21 11.

Liberty Bonus programme and Liberty points

How do I collect Liberty points? 
Whenever you pay with your Visa LibertyCard, you collect Liberty points, regardless of whether you pay within Switzerland, abroad or online. You receive one Liberty point for each Swiss franc you spend. And when you pay for a travel service, we will even give you multiple Liberty points for each franc you spend: you receive double Liberty points with your Visa LibertyCard or Visa LibertyCard Prepaid, and quadruple Liberty points with your Visa LibertyCard Plus.

Do Liberty points expire?  
Your Liberty points are valid for two years. To provide you with a constant overview, your Liberty points balance is shown on your monthly card statement and can be viewed online at any time at www.myonlineservices.ch.

Where can I redeem my Liberty points?
You can redeem your Liberty points in exchange for attractive Liberty bonuses with many of our partners. You will find a detailed list of partners on our website.

Change of name or address

How do I notify you of a change in address?
A change of address must be submitted in writing by contact form, e-mail or letter. Please always provide us with both the old and new address and your eight-digit customer number. For further information, see Change of address.

What should I do if I change my name?
Please notify us immediately in writing of any change of name. Please note that you also need to send us a copy of your new official ID card and your new signature. For further information, see Change of name.

Miscellaneous

Can companies also apply for the new Visa LibertyCard?
Yes. We have special application forms for companies. You will find these under Company applications or you can order them via our infoline on +41 58 717 21 11.

Can the credit limit be exceeded?
The personal credit limit may be exceeded briefly, for example for a major purchase, in justified exceptional instances.

Why do I need to state my income when applying for a Visa LibertyCard?
Like all other credit cards, the Visa LibertyCard is subject to the Swiss Consumer Credit Act. This requires applicants for a cashless means of payment to disclose their financial situation.

Why do I need to send a copy of an identification document when applying for a Visa LibertyCard?
Like all credit cards, the Visa LibertyCard is subject to the Swiss Consumer Credit Act. This requires the issuer of a cashless means of payment to be aware of the identity of the applicant.

 

Security

Is the Visa LibertyCard secure?
The Visa LibertyCard uses the latest security standards, such as chip technology and personal PIN. If your Visa LibertyCard is lost, stolen or you suspect misuse, you can call us free of charge, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, via our infoline on +41 58 717 21 11. We assume liability for any misuse from the time you report the loss.

General security tips

Sign your Visa LibertyCard on the back as soon as you receive it.
Always keep your Visa LibertyCard in a safe place, and check regularly that you still have it in your possession.

If your Visa LibertyCard is missing, whether as a result of loss, theft or retention at an ATM, please use our 24-hour infoline to have it blocked immediately.
Protect the magnetic strip on the rear of the card from scratches and avoid strong magnetic fields (mobile phones, loudspeakers, magnetic clasps etc).

When making a cash withdrawal at an ATM, don’t become distracted and don’t let other people see as you enter your PIN.
